Ben, Blake, and I went to Wooten Park in Tavares. Gotta say, Florida is disgustingly muggy and sticky in the summertime. Can’t wait to complain about how cold it is!

Every paycheck, Ben gets “fun money” to buy “himself” new toys. A few weeks ago, he bought a Drum kit. Ben and daddy play with the new toy:
We can see a tooth peeking through the bottom gums. Which is great because he’s been SUPER cranky this weekend. Is he supposed to be cranky with each set of teeth coming in?
So here’s a list of stuff I need to do that I just found out this morning, from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry:
Ben is now 7 1/2 months. On the chart below, so far he has mastered all the 7-month Mastered Skills and Emerging Skills, and a few of the Advanced Skills. He’s mastered everything on on the 8-month Skills lists and most of the things on 9-month Skills list. He’s gonna be a genius, like me!
So Ben is:

Ben has been eating food for a few months now.
Strangely, he really does like just about everything: apples, bananas, all kinds of squash, sweet potatoes, spinach, pears, peaches, broccoli, rice, chickpeas, green beans, peas, mangoes, pineapples, beets, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, prunes, and corn, and probably more that I can’t think of.
So far there are only two things he doesn’t like: carrot and lentils.
I think his favorites are apples and peas.
He is a messy eater so we bought him some smocks at IKEA, pictured above.
For his height and age, he’s a little underweight so we’re trying to fatten him up a little.
Ben’s been so active since he learned to crawl. His most recent toy was a walker thingy that makes a lot of music/noise.
In looking at all the food on baby aisle of Target, the next step up of food requires Ben to be able to chew food with his back gums and feed himself. So this weekend we introduced Ben to Baby Mum Mum crackers to help him start to chew food and feed himself. And it worked! He loves them. They’re these little cracker things that are flash frozen, like astronaut food, so they dissolve easily to avoid choking hazards. They are sticky though and Ben’s been making a mess of himself. But it’s fun regardless.
Today we went to Flagler Beach with some friends and Bem got to dip his feet in the ocean. He was not a fan!
