Now that Ben’s vocabulary and phrase construction are expanding at lightspeed, we must establish a list of the “cutest things Ben says”:
- “I love you”
- “I miss you”
- “Rubber ducky”
- “No, thank you”
- “I hold you”

Ben turned 2 on November 16. We celebrated on November 17 with a small group of friends and family that Ben was well acquainted with and who would deluge him with attention since he doesn’t really have any birthday-celebrating friends his own age. Thanks to all who attended and made Ben feel like the special birthday boy that he was.
We were a month late in taking Ben to his 2-year checkup, but better late than never. Stats:

Today we went to Legoland in Winter Haven. Ben loved it because it’s geared to youngsters, with a special part of the park just for playing with duplos (the blocks for those Ben’s age) plus a bunch of rides Ben could go on. Included in the photos below are photos of various Lego creations, like cities in Miniland constructed with Legos, animals on the safari ride. Also included are pretty photos of what remains of Cypress Gardens (Legoland was built on Cypress Gardens property, converting Florida’s oldest theme park to Florida’s newest). Enjoy – we did!
Ben doesn’t have a regular nap schedule, or even a regular nap location! This hyperactive kid will fall asleep wherever he crashes.
At the Y. Ben liked it the first day. Then it all fell apart. He stopped participating, instead just dunking his head underwater or jumping into the pool. The swim instructor said he was one of the laziest kids she’d ever had. Then he was kicked out because he wouldn’t stop screaming…
I just found these “Easter” photos that I forgot to post. We didn’t celebrate Easter, but Blake went to Target the day after, got Ben an Elmo basket and some  eggs, and we hid them. I don’t know why he’s not wearing a shirt…
Ben quickly found the booze cooler at my Pop-Pop’s 80th birthday party. Of course he never drank any but we got a kick out of him carrying around the cans. 🙂 Ben also got to meet his Great Great Uncle Donald from Canada.
Ben’s first road trip! Unfortunately, shortly before we left, he discovered the art of the temper tantrum. Plus he was cutting two canine teeth. So…
ROAD TRIP + NEW TEMPER + TEETHING SHARP TEETH = disgruntled child not easily calmed down
We went on a trip to New Orleans and San Antonio, to spend time with Blake’s aunt and dad respectively. It was a lot of fun and we are grateful to those family members that tolerated us. 🙂 We discovered that we can no longer take Ben out to restaurants; too antsy and impatient nowadays.
